What Is the WINZ ?
Work and Income, an organisation within the Ministry of Social Development (MSD). Our purpose is to support New Zealanders by offering a number of payments and services on behalf of the government.
We can:
*help you financially if you're on a low income or not working
*support you into work, and
*help you with housing.
*We also offer services to employers and providers.
How we'll work with you
We’ll do our best to work with you in any way we can, e.g. if you:
*need an interpreter,
*need us to visit you at home because of mobility problems, or
*would like a meeting room when you meet with us.
*You can also nominate someone to act on your behalf in your dealings with us.
